Historic Building Restoration

Cusack & Co have extensive experience .Historic Renovation  We have undertakhistoric building restoration.  We have done extensive work at many locations including the Natural History Museum.  The image on the right shows a conservatory at the museum that was recently dismantled by the Cusack & Co team.

The teracotta blockwork is grade one listed and the dismantled components have be archived by English Heritage in case of future requirement.

The challenge to this type of work involves the need to carefully, manually dismantle each block so as to maintain the original finish and integrity.  Blocks for the museum were specifically cast for the museum, and can no longer be produced, so specialist care and attention was required.

Tithe FarmTithe Farm in Harrow, dates from the period when Henry VIII reigned.  This is another Grade I listed building that Cusack have had the opportunity to restore.  Funded by a lottery grant Tithe Farm, a previously derelict English Heritage building was partially restored to its former glory.

Cusack & Co were commissioned to do elements of this historic building restoration using traditional materials that had to be sourced locally.  Examples of this included the red rubber bricks, lime mortar and quarried hoggin shown in the adjacent image.
